What GoHighLevel is built for
GoHighLevel (the company calls itself HighLevel) is an all-in-one marketing and sales platform made for agencies. One account gives you a CRM with pipelines, a unified inbox for email, SMS, calls and social messages, a website and funnel builder, booking calendars, courses and communities, reputation management, payments and visual workflows.
Agencies create a sub-account for each client, copy proven setups between them with snapshots and brand the desktop app as their own. Agency Pro adds SaaS mode, so you can resell the platform at your own price.
What Zoho is built for
Zoho CRM covers contact management, workflows and mass email on Standard, adds multiple pipelines, forecasting, built-in calling and the Zia AI assistant on Professional, and approvals, sandboxes and multi-team features on Enterprise. There is a free edition for up to three users.
Zoho CRM is priced per user: $14 (Standard), $23 (Professional), $40 (Enterprise) and $52 (Ultimate) per user a month billed yearly, according to Zoho’s own comparison page. Zoho One, the full suite of 50+ apps, lists $90 per user a month on its flexible user plan.
GoHighLevel vs Zoho: pricing compared
GoHighLevel charges a flat monthly fee. Zoho uses a different model, so the cheapest plan is not always the cheapest choice. These are the list prices on each official pricing page.

What this costs in a real setup
A five-person team on Zoho CRM Professional pays 5 x $23 = $115 a month billed yearly, or $450 a month on Zoho One. On GoHighLevel Starter the same team pays $97 a month (or $297 on Unlimited) with unlimited users, plus email and SMS usage.
One tool or a whole suite
Zoho’s main advantage is breadth. Zoho One bundles more than 50 apps, including CRM, accounting, HR, helpdesk, projects, forms, campaigns and analytics, all sharing one login and one directory of users. For a company that wants to run most of its operations with one vendor, that is hard to beat.
GoHighLevel goes deep on one area: getting leads and turning them into customers. It does not do accounting or HR, but its marketing tools are in one place rather than spread across several apps, which makes setup faster for a marketing team or agency.
Some businesses use both: Zoho for finance and operations, and GoHighLevel for marketing, connected through integrations. If you only need a CRM for a small team, Zoho CRM’s free edition is a sensible place to start.
Features compared
| Area | GoHighLevel | Zoho |
|---|---|---|
| CRM depth | Pipelines, custom fields, tags and a unified inbox. | Highly configurable CRM with custom modules, blueprints and approvals. |
| Marketing | Email, SMS, funnels, forms and automation in one place. | Mass email in CRM; full marketing needs Zoho Campaigns or Marketing Automation. |
| Calling | Built-in calling billed per minute. | Built-in calling on Professional and up. |
| Suite | One marketing platform. | Zoho One adds accounting, HR, projects and helpdesk. |
| Agency use | Sub-accounts, snapshots, white label. | Separate Zoho organisations per client. |

The usage costs on top of GoHighLevel
GoHighLevel prices its plans as a flat monthly fee with unlimited contacts and users, but email, SMS and phone calls are billed from a prepaid wallet that recharges your card automatically. These are the US and Canada rates from HighLevel’s own phone pricing guide and email documentation:
- Email (LC Email): $0.675 per 1,000 emails on every plan. Every recipient counts, including CC and BCC.
- SMS: $0.00747 per segment, sent or received. MMS costs $0.022 outbound.
- Calls: $0.0166 per minute outbound and $0.01165 per minute inbound, rounded up to the full minute.
- Phone numbers: $1.15 a month for a local number, $2.15 for toll-free, plus a one-time A2P 10DLC registration fee ($22.50 for low volume) for business texting in the US.
For a five-person team sending 15,000 emails and 1,000 text segments a month from one local number, that adds about $18.74 a month in usage. Usage is cheap at small volume, but it is not included in the plan price, so budget for it when you compare GoHighLevel with tools that bundle sending into the subscription.

Zoho costs to watch
- Per-user pricing: every seat adds to the bill.
- Marketing tools beyond mass email are separate Zoho apps.
- Zoho One’s all-employee pricing requires licensing every employee.
Questions to answer before you decide
Count users first. With per-user pricing, a team of three can run free, but a team of fifteen pays fifteen times the monthly price.
List the apps you would need besides a CRM. If you want email campaigns, landing pages and surveys, check whether they are in your plan or separate apps, and price them together.
Decide whether you want a suite or a focused tool. A suite saves money if you use many of its apps; a focused marketing platform is quicker to set up if you only need lead generation and follow-up.
Who should choose GoHighLevel
- You want funnels, SMS, email and booking in one tool without adding Zoho apps.
- Your team is growing and you do not want per-user fees.
- You serve clients and want white-label accounts.
Who should choose Zoho
- You need a highly customisable CRM with approvals and custom modules.
- You want accounting, HR and helpdesk from the same vendor (Zoho One).
- You have a small team and want to start free.
How to switch from Zoho to GoHighLevel
- Export modules (leads, contacts, deals) from Zoho CRM.
- Map Zoho fields to GoHighLevel custom fields before importing.
- Recreate deal stages as GoHighLevel pipelines.
- Rebuild key workflows and email templates.
- Keep Zoho apps you use for finance or HR; GoHighLevel can sync contacts through integrations.
